5 year olds....

A while ago I was called as the 5 year old primary teacher and lets just say it is a job all in its self! Before I got married I was teaching the 5 year olds in my parents ward and they were pretty fun, work but fun. Then, I had like three little boys and one little girl and I thought they were work then, well now I have six little girls and one little boy.

You would think the class full of little boys would be worse than the girls, but oh boy, Girls are Drama! One week the little girls will be best friends then if they see the other talking to someone else they aren't best friends! And another little girl will always start to cry if you don't call on her to do the prayer.... ALWAYS!

They would always fight over who had to sit by the little boy and who got to sit by teacher, so I starting assigning them chairs and if they are good they get a star and if they get six stars they get a treat and get to be the 'Special Helper'.

Ever since I was called to be the teacher I have seriously dreaded going to church. I didn't feel like they were learning anything and the bigger my belly gets the harder it is to sit in those little chairs and to bend over and pull the little dears out from under their chairs...... BUT this week was different!

This week I made a break through! Our lesson was about being being a Peacemaker in our homes and for onces the little girls listened. (of course the little boy wasn't there so the girls weren't telling on his so that helped) They all sat still and listened and answered my questions and even colored nicely; NONE of my crayons were broken from them fighting over them! It was great and I think they even learned!

One of the questions I asked one of the girls was "How can you be a peacemaker in your home?" she replied, "By not fighting with my brother." I then said, "What if he just won't leave you be?" She then said, "I'd tell him that he needs to keep the gospel in his life and listen and feel for Heavenly Father to help him not be mean to me!" I kinda started to giggle because it sounded so grown up, then she continued, "I always tell him that he needs to keep the gospel in his life... always! but sometimes he won't listen to me so I pray for him." I just looked at her thinking, Are you really 5?

So needless to say, I don't totally hate my calling now. Its little things like the little kids giving you a hug or seeing you in the store and saying, MOM, thats my favorite teacher, that actually makes my calling worth while. I seriously admire all the patient teachers at the schools. They are so great and will truly be blessed for teaching our children and actually having the patience to! (well most of them)

Now the trick is how to get them to listen 2 weeks in a row!

PS: 5 weeks! until Baby P hopefully arrives. I went up and held Sharrie's little Haizlie and enjoyed every minute. She is so precious and I love that she grins in her sleep!

Eight WEEKS!

Yesterday I went in for another Dr. appointment and was very excited to hear that I am in the single digit range!
I have between 6 to 8 weeks left! YEAH!
The last couple weeks I have been having bad back pains. I asked the doctor about them and he reassured that I was actually having Braxton Hicks Contractions. Which now that I think about it does make sense, but I sure hope when it comes time to actuallly being in labor that I'll be able to distinguish what is really happening!
I've been reading aton of books and asking a million questions so hopefully I'll be prepared.
Yesterday I also ordered the baby's crib! I'm so relieved to have that done and we organized our spare bedroom so the baby will actually have a place in our little apartment!
The baby is so active these days. Its like she's doing jumping jacks in there! She's always on my right side playing with my ribs and just making them sore! But I love feeling here moving, that is one thing I think I'll truly miss. Also feeling her move reassures me that she is okay, I always worry that something is wrong when I haven't felt her move for a while.

Well thats about all for now! All my friends who are due in June are going to be having their little babes soon and I'm very jealous!
It seems like time has stopped!
Eight weeks feels like forever to go!
BUT I still have a ton to get done so I guess I'll take these weeks and hopefully get completely prepared for my soon to be family of three!

5 Years... Really?

Around this time 5 years ago...
I graduated from HIGH SCHOOL!
Am I really getting that old to have been graduated for 5 years?

The other day I recieved an email about my five year class reunion on Sept 3. Thats when it really hit me! Where has the time gone and what have I done with me life? Thank goodness I have a blog to write down all my thoughts. Sorry if this bores anyone!

2005:
-Graduated and thought life was just grand! (All the girls in these pictures are prego, except for one! Crazy!)

- I was working for Dr. Knight as an office assistant and just played almost every night!
- I moved out to Orem and lived with Leandra Tew Call at the much hated Park Way Crossing and attended UVSC.

-Started my first real life job... I was an office assistant at the UVSC Equity Center! I just needed a job so I took the first one I was offered, and lets just say that was a bad idea! It was a center where abused people come and try to find resolution and try to help others. I really had a love/hate relationship with this job because it was for a good cause but I hated seeing and having to talk to people about all the bad stuff that had happened to them like: mental/sexual abuse, rape, murder... etc. That was when I truly decided that I couldn't be a councelor because I would usually cry every time I heard one of their terrible/touching story. Since I lived such a sheltered life, I knew things happened like that, but nothing ever happened to me so I had a hard time relating to their stories.
-I mostly messed around this year of college and took all the fun classes which included a country dance class and finished all the easy classes on my associates list. (Not a good idea, then you have all the hard classes the next semester.)

2006:
-Came home for the summer and helped my grandpa with his cows and seriously just played all summer long! (This picture is terrible, but you can't look too glamorous when fixing fense and the water spots.)
-Went back to college and lived at Winter Haven with Jenny Caldwell, Amanda Moore Durfey, Betsy Allred Toyn, Brooke Bunderson Gardner and three other crazies!

-I was a bit more serious this year of college and actually took some hard classes at which I actually had to study!
-Brooke, Besty, and I for halloween dressed up as Ninja Turtles and attended the Hollywood house party... We had tons of fun, but mostly just loved taking pictures of us in our crazy outfits.

-I worked at Advantage Management where I was once again an office assistant and helped manage rental units and home owner associations. I have never been yelled at more in my life than at this job by either angry renters or ticked off HOA memebers. I had a love/hate relationship with this job too because I liked doing the whole set schedule and always having somehting to do like data entry but getting yelled at is not fun.
-Finished Associates degress.
-I moved to the Brandbury in Provo for the summer and lived with Leandra Tew Call, Jenny (I don't remember her last same), and Danielle Hanks.  We had fun, just playing and ate all the little otter pops we could.

2007:
-I moved to a way awesome townhouse on the Springville/Provo bourder and lived with Jenny Burdick Caldwell, Amanda Durfey and Danielle Hanks.
-I still continued to work at Advantage Management where I even got my own office and assistant... I liked to call her my assistant cuz she took over all the stuff I didn't like to do and I took over entering and contacting the new owners in the different home owner associations. Big step up... I know! ha ha
-I started my prerequestes for dental hygiene school. SO hard classes. Microbiology, Chemistry, and Anatomy all kicked my butt! They were so interesting but by far the hardest classes I have ever taken!
-Jenny and I decided to take a class called Humon Sexuality! Yes, quite the name for a class! and its exactally about its name. I throughly enjoyed this class, there were some strange subjects, like the cross dresser coming and talking to us and watching an actual sex change was very crazy but it is truly a class that I will always remember and it did help me. We were CRAZY I know, But it was the most interesting class I ever took at UVU. We also went to quite a few Jazz games that year.... GO JAZZ! ha ha

2008:
-I was set up with my love Cody! We went ice skating and to diner and watched a movie. Cody didnt quite like me yet, but I knew there might be something there. I remember seeing him and thinking.... Kandice are you sure you don't already know him?

-Last First Kiss! Cody kissed me for the first time on Valentines day!
-I finished half my prreques and decided that I didn't really know if Dental Hygiene was for me and I took a job at the Roosevelt Vision Clinic as the lab tech. Love this job!
-Stayed home from school to keep my job and to see what was up with this guy named Cody! Good thing I did!
-Mostly all my friends were married this year and all around the same time! Leandra, Amanda, Jenny, my cousin Marie, and others that I just can't think of right now!
-Bought my little jeep!
-Met the Pehrson family over Thanksgiving and again over Christmas.

2009:
-This guy named Cody Proposed and this girl said YES!

-Recieved my endownments, May 14 at the Vernal Temple. Such a special moment!
-We were married on May 16 in the Manti Temple

-Honeymooned in ALASKA! Best two week vacation I've ever taken! We for sure will have to go back again!

-Moved to Vernal, live there for probably 2-3 weeks then moved to Roosevelt to a baby apartment. We really do like living in Roosevelt but our little apt is very homley and will do until we build.
-Found out I was pregers on my birthday

2010:
-Still working at the Vision Clinic until little Baby Pehrson decides she is going to make her appearance.
-1st year anniversary
-We are deciding on house plans and how to pull off our million dollar dream how for only a few dollars... Any ideas?

Well thats about it! It still feels a bit weird that it was five years ago!
I told Cody, "The only way I'd go back to high school was to have no responsiblities and if I could take him with me!" ha ha
I still haven't decided if I'll actually attend my reunion... It would be fun to see everyone again and catch up on what they are doing in their lives but you know, I will have a new little baby! Good excuse I know!

One Year Down... Eternity To Go!

Cody and Kandice Pehrson
Sealed for time and all eternity on
May 16, 2009 in the Manti LDS Temple

Wow, what a year! It seems like time has flown by! There is so much that has changed in the last year and so many great memories from our awesome honeymoon in Alaska to finding out on my birthday that we were expecting a baby girl.

Things I LOVE about my Cod-Man:

-I love it when he talks to our little baby. He says stuff like, "Love you baby girl." then gives my belly a kiss. Or my favorite is when he says "Goodnight baby and mommy," which is then followed by a kiss on my belly and then a little kiss to me.
-How much he loves oldies. The Classical country music that is! He knows almost all the words to ton of songs and knows who sings them! And he's a pretty good singer.
-His little kitchen dances. He's quite the booty shaker!
-How hard of a worker he is. Sometimes he works through the night to get a job done without getting paid... I don't think his employer knows how many free work hours they get out of him with out pay! Stupid Salary!
-His sense of decoration! Whenever we go to Jubilee he stops and looks at the floral and picks out what he thinks we should put in our house. Its a good thing we have the same taste! I don't have to worry about getting something goofy as a present because he has great taste!
-How he teaches me patience. Even though he, himself has very little patience he has taught me patience by showing me how to wait and save. I like to buy the cheap and get it quick and he likes to wait and save for the good stuff.
-He is a great Egg maker. I'm not the worst cook in the world but when I cook breakfast I'm very terrible at cooking eggs. I always break the yoke, but he can flip four eggs at a time and not break any of the yokes.... That's talent right there! He calls himself Chief Ramsey; off of Hell's kitchen or Ramsey kitchen nightmares.
-He is so, SO, so, SO great with kids. They love him! Where ever we go, there is always a little girl flirting with him or a little boy admiring his belt buckle or his hat. He attracts kids! He's going to be a great DADDY!
-He is very neat and clean. Most of the time our house is pretty clean but some days when I don't feel like doing the laundry or cleaning he'll help out. And he is usually cleaner then I am. He usually always puts his boots and hats away but I just lay them around. Shhhh, don't tell him I said that!
-He pretends to be a tough guy all the time, but he is a helpless romantic! He's great at surprising me with flowers at work and great gifts on my birthday. On our honeymoon, we ran to town to get a movie and when we returned, he had fresh dipped strawberries, roses, and sparkling cider sent to our room and there was love music playing. My heart simply melted! And then there was our lovely and most perfect 1st anniversary surprise!
-His silly little jokes. One day I called and was complaining how I had heart burn really bad and he said... "My heart burns for you too babe!" He always turns my complaining into a little joke which gets us both laughing.
-How much he loves animals. We love being outside and working/playing with the animals.

-I love how he will run to the WalMart (We all know how much he hates Wally World) to fix my craving problem i have these days. Just a few weeks ago he ran to WalMart to get me some Strawberry applesauce and a box of strawberry yogurt cheerios!
-He has came to every single one of my baby doctor appointments with me! He loves coming with me and I love seeing his smile and the light in his eyes when the baby image comes up on the monitor and also when hearing the heart beat!
-And last but not least: He loves me though the good and the bad & the stupid and ugly.

The list could truly go on forever and there are a million other things I love about him. This year has brought a few hard times, but the good out weighs the bad 100 to 1!

From here.... to Eternity!
We have a huge picture frame with this saying on it and every time I look at it, it reminds me just how truly blessed I am to have such a great husband and eternal companion. It's so great knowing that by making just one right decision would lead to an eternity of happiness. Its such a great reassurance to know that he is mine forever!

Can't wait to spend Eternity with my very Best Friend!

WEEKEND Changes

I have the very best and I mean very best husband in the whole world! He loves to keep me on my toes and surprise me every chance he gets!

On Friday May 14 we left at 6 in the morning for our "Bear Hunt." We get to Duchesne and of course we have to stop and get a drink... well when we left we headed for Strawberry... and I'm like Honey, aren't we suppose to be going the other way? He says, well we've got to pick up everyone else.

We get to Provo and we go shopping for a few baby stuff and then around 11 we leave and I'm like... I thought we were getting Don (Cody's sister's husband) Cody says... He was suppose to call us along time ago, I'm leaving him. So we left for Manti.

The drive to Manti was so pretty! Once in Manti we eat and then drive around.... I'm thinking, Boy we sure are wasting alot of hunting time! ha ha

Then..... SURPRISE!

We did go here:
The La Sal Mountains, but on the Manti, UT side.
Wedid not hunt this:

But we did stay here:
The Yardley Inn and Spa

And we did go here:

I was totally surprised! I remember telling the ladies at work how, I thought he might have something up his sleeve, but his little cover stories were so good and so believable! I seriously thought we were going hunting, which I was totally fine with. BUT being pampered all weekend and see the beautiful Manti Temple was so much better!

We had such a great weekend, a much needed getaway!
We enjoyed our very first 'Live' temple session and also our first couples massage! What a treat!
I have such an AWESOME husband!
He knows exactly how to make my day and just want to say to cheer me up!
We did take a picture, but of course I probably won't get them up for another three months! ha ha Sorry!

Baby Pehrson

Yesterday we lucky enough to get a 3-D ultrasound of our little babe. She was a bit stubborn and wouldn't totally show us everything but with a lot of poking, rubbing and walking around the hospital we got a pretty good facial picture and the radiologist tech said she was pretty confident that she was indeed a GIRL!

ENJOY!

There pictures aren't totally clear because her little arm was across her face so they had to go 'through' the arm to get to the face.
We pulled out our wedding video and looked at our baby pictures and she has my chubby round face and my squished little nose. And she has Cody's eyes and forehead.
Such a chubby cutie!
I can't believe how big she already looks, her little cheeks are already starting the droop!

Seeing her for the first time seems to make everything seem so real....
Well more real than feeling her kick all day and watching my belly move when she rolls over. 11 WEEKS LEFT!

SO EXCITED!

Also...
This weekend is Cody and I's anniversary! 1 Year down, Eternity to go. (Anniversary blog to follow!)

For our anniversary we are headed here....

The La Sal Mountains, Near Moab to HUNT this......

With Cody's Dad who was lucky enough to draw a black bear tag this year!

If you asked me what I thought we'd be doing for our anniversary, Bear hunting probably wouldn't be my answer and I didn't think I'd be pregnant either. But I'm very excited, I've never been bear hunting before and the boys are very excited to hunt down that BIG one roaming the La Sal Mtns.
Hopefully my prego body will hold up!

Wish Us Luck!

Cross your Fingers, Eyes and Toes...
because tomorrow is the big day of our 3D Ultrasound!
Now, the baby has been a bit stubborn the last few ultrasounds and hides herself,
BUT I have a plan this go round!
I've discovered that our little Baby loves fruit! Cody made a couple fresh Strawberry pies (pictures to follow) for us last week and everytime I'd eat a piece, she'd turn circles in my belly, wave her little arms and kick her feet...
She also likes Watermelon!
So before my appointment tommorrow, I'm going to eat some Strawberries and Watermelon and hopefully she will be active and let us see her little face!

Wish Us LUCK!
We'll be Tickled Pink just to see her again!
