Well this Summer seems like it has flown by until now.....
TIME HAS STOPPED!
Up until this last couple weeks it seems like summer was going to pass by with out us doing anything fun! So here is an update on what we've been doing 'fun' this summer!
(mostly a reminder for me!)
This year Rylan decided she wanted Cody to help her show some calves in a couple
STOCK SHOWS. So in October Cody and Rylan went through my Grandpa's calves and picked a heifer and a steer to raise for her to show.
- May 31-June 4, was the Delta Stock Show and Rylan took her little heifer, Creamy to the show and did pretty well. For her first time ever showing a calf she took Reserve Showman in her class and she received a Blue in her heifer class... which is pretty good for just picking her favorite calf out of the field! :)
Rylan and Creamy! She really was a very cute calf!
Rylan ended up selling Missy Creamy at the sale and she was super super super nervous that her little heifer was going to the packer.... Cody just said,
"Ry, she is going to a place where the grass is greener and the bulls are cuter!" Ry said,
"Okay, Good!" ha ha
I think Rylan had a pretty good time! She made a couple friends and they went to their first stock show dance. My mom went to supervise them and she said it was pretty funny watching the boy and girl groups start away from each other then gradually get closer and then just join at the very end of the night!
The next morning I asked Ry how her first dance was and she said she did the worm and the crazy Indian (Its a Mathews' girls dance move). I asked her if she danced with a boy and she said "Almost, but my one friend did! She just marched up to the boy she liked and asked him to dance and then she came back and said it was the most ROMANTIC dance she'd ever had!" (probably the only one she'd ever had! ha ha) Cody and I just laughed!
What have we gotten ourselves into, girls are only drama and we've decided to have one! AWE!
Also this last month we, I mean Cody helped my Grandpa MOVE COWS. I just drove the truck. I did try to ride, but that lasted a whole 10 minutes because its not too comfortable having a baby bounce around in your belly and I'm not sure how she liked it either! But I guess you can say that little Baby P has had her first horsey ride! ha ha
The first of June WE HAD A FEW VISITORS, a friend of Cody's from HS came and stayed the night with us. It was nice meeting him and hearing his crazy stories. He's had quite the life! Ha ha, we set him up in our spare bedroom with our air mattress and the poor guy ended up sleeping on the ground because there was a very small hole in the mattress! ha ha The next night Cody's brother Travis and wifey Ashley came and stayed with us also. Luckily I found the hole and they had a fully aired up mattress! It was nice having people come stay with us. It reminded us of just how small our apartment is, BUT it also reminds us how grateful we're going to be when we build our beautiful house!
June 19, my wonderful sister in laws threw me a BABY SHOWER in Spanish Fork for my family and friends that live out there and who probably wouldn't make it to the Basin Hole for a baby shower! We had a great time and I received so many nice presents! I was able to catch up with my friends Betsy Toyn, Leandra Call, Danielle Hanks, and Amanda Durfey for a little bit and it was great seeing them again. It has been over two years since I had seen most of these girls and I was so glad they came! My Aunt Darlene and cousin Marie and Mindy Sue also came and gave me the CUTEST blanket. My Aunt hand pieced it and I love the colors. BABY P will look so good wrapped up nice and snug in this blanket! Thanks to everyone who came, I had a great time!
(Leandra and I after the shower, I look terrible so I'm going to blame it on the pregnancy)
June 23, My Mom and sisters threw me a
BABY SHOWER in Altamont. We had a pretty good time just talking to all my old friends and seeing my family! I love getting together with th'em. My friend Tara made me a nursing cover and my Aunt Linda said no that is called a "Hooder Hider! Ha Ha Ha We all laughed so hard! But that is all we do when all my family gets together. I also got a ton of cute clothes and some very cute little shoes. I received a ton of quilts and my grandma Carma promised to make me a silky blanket. All her grandkids love them! Thanks to everyone for everything they gave us. We really appreicate all the help and support. For this little baby to be so small, it sure takes alot to get ready for her!
From the
PREGNANCY LIST:
Mallary Mecham had a beautiful baby girl on June 16, little Miss Karter Abigail and she is just precious. My friend Jenny and I went and visited her at the hospital and it was great being able to go in and kind of investigate the delivery rooms and see the new maternity ward at UBMC. It's very nice and just seeing and holding Baby Karter made me so anxious to have Baby P. here! But there is so such that I still need to learn.
Sharrie Bagley had her little girl on June 21. They named her Haizlie Marie, such a cute name and one minute she looks like her mommy and then just like daddy! She's just a little thing and I hope Baby P and Haizlie can be friends!
(Sharrie and I at her baby shower. I think she was 32 weeks and I was 27 weeks.)
I told Cody that I'd have to have Little Baby P on July 20th in order for Sharrie and I's kids to be the same distance apart as we were. I was born on Dec. 3 and she was Jan. 2. I don't think I'll have her that soon, but you can always hope. We'll hope that if I do that she is healthy and strong and fully developed. That's that only way I'll take her sooner! ha ha I guess We'll see.
Also Sammi Draper had her baby, a baby girl named Jaidyn. She's very cute too!
I am getting super super super ready for her to come. Seeing a few of my friends having theirs makes me want her so bad! And receiving all the cute outfits and bows isn't helping my anticipation either! I want her now! Remember a few months go when I said I needed to learn how to have patience? Well I still haven't found any! Still super impatient as ever!
We got our nursery all put together and let me tell you just how darling it is! Thanks to Grandma Angie Mathews we have the cutest bedding! I'll have to take a picture once I get all the decorations made, well finished. Here is what the bedding looks like. I'm adding a new decorations of my own but its SUPER cute!
For the 4 OF JULY, WE WENT TO DELTA and visited with Cody's family! We had SO MUCH FUN with the little grandkids. They are all growing up so fast and are all so different. The one thing they all have in common is they love to play and get wild with Uncle Cody! He's so great with them.
That's about all for now, We've been super busy and I really can't remember all that we have done, but getting ready for Baby P. is my favorite pass time. Slowly I'm getting everything done. I think we have everything we think we'll need for the baby and I just need to pack my bag for the blessed day when she decides to come. I've been making little presents for my friends who are having babies and its so fun! From bow boards to little onesies and also quilts. You know how much I love to craft!
I'm now down to
GOING TO THE DOCTOR WEEKLY and I try and talk him into giving me more details as to when he thinks she'll come and he just says, "Well your due date is August 4." YEAH, Thanks Doctor! I want an exact date. Once again, a patience issue.
4 MORE WEEKS!
