Loved Labor Day Weekend!

Well its offically September and of course I usually only get in one post a month... so here we go! ha ha

Well for Labor day weekend we had so many options and so many fun things we wanted to do so we had a hard time deciding on what to do....

On Saturday we rode into Brown Duck with my mom and dad and Quincee. We had such a fun time! It was a wonderful day for a horse ride....

The ride in took us about two and a half hours... a bit longer than we had expected. The first hour went by pretty fast but the second half was long and hard. Our poor horses were pooped out when we got to the lake.

The fishing was pretty good.... I'm not much a a fisherman (unless we're in Alaska), I like to catch the big ones.... the little guys we caught up there were so small that you could barely feel them hit your line. My parents were on a roll, they were catching them left and right... but as for me I just didn't have the touch, I caught.... none! Thats a sad story I know, but we had fun!

On our ride back to Moon Lake, it started to rain really hard.. and yes, Cody and I forgot our rain coats so we were pretty wet when we got back to the trailers! But it sure was good to get out of Roosevelt and do some riding!

On Monday, we brought my grandparents cows off the mountain. I love moving cows and bringing them home. I look forward to moving them up and then down every year!
While we were waiting for the rest of the riders to get off the mtns, Cody and Quincee decided they were going to team rope Rylan and I, I need to learn how to run faster... They headed and heeled me and stretched me out like a roping steer... I'm sure it looked funny, but it wasn't too funny to me!

On our way home from the mtn, this little tire blow out happened! Luckily we weren't too far from my grandparents house and not no one was hurt!

Ashley's new job... Horse Washer Women! Thanks ASH!

We had a great weekend! It might sound boring to you, but its what we love to do and we have so much fun doing it!

July 2009

Well Here is my post for the month.. ha ha We've been so busy running around and having fun that its getting hard to find time to post a blog but here we go:
This weekend we're actually enjoying sometime off with Cody's family and also mine. My little sister started up high school rodeo and she's rodeoing in Delta this weekend so we took the chance to visit his family and also see her. (Ps she did get yesterday. She roped a 4.20 breakaway which qualified her for state! You rock Quinc!)
Well here's Cody at his best.... rolling in the dirt and playing with the boys! This year at the Dinosaur Round up Rodeo, Cody and his crew decided to do the wild cow milking. It was such a blast watching them!

Way to go boys! They ended just seconds behind the first place team but they were for sure the best! They already have a plan for next year.

We're back!

What an awesome trip! We had such a great time and we caught so many fishe! We ended up bringing 217 lbs home with us but we could have brought so much more!

Things we learned:
#1- Julie Campbell is CRAZY. She's the lady we rented the cabin/house from. She called us more than three times a day and wanted to know exactly what we were doinge every second of every day! SO CRAZY!

#2- We think its a state law that residents of Alaska can only take one bath a MONTH. I swear the people there are hippies that never take baths! Its so gross. We figure thats why it rain so much up there... to wash the hippies and cover their smell (Sorry to all the Clean Alaska Residents)
#3- Do not hike in to fish and plan on bringing out 12, 8 lb fish easily! We had the mistake of hiking into the Russian River Falls, catching our 12 fish limit and then remembering we do not know how to filay a fish, so we had to carry then out whole! Well Cod-Man did! He's so STRONG! ha ha. I was just there for moral support and to catch the fish!
#4- Bears in Alaska aren't that mean..... just leave them alone and they won't kill you!

#5- We love flying. We flew four times while in Alaska. We did two fly over fishing trip and we got to see the bears... it was freaking awesome!

#6- Our new favorite show is the Deadliest catch! We visited Homer, AK home of the Time Bandit.

#7- The sun NEVER goes completely down during the summer time. These pictures are on the same day... and you can see any changes in the day light. ITs crazy! It only gets dark for about an hour and then its light again... but even when it gets dark its not completely dark you could still probably drive without your head lights!

#8- There is lot of lovers up there... there is a lovers lane, lovers loop and lover circle! Wow! We went cruising down lovers lane!
#9- One of best feelings in the world is reeling in a HUGE King Salmon. But one of the worst is when you find out that King Salmon is too big and that you have to throw it back!
Cody caught this 48 inch king salmon, in June you can't keep the salmon if its over 46 inches, unless its over 55 inches you can. This fish weighted about 55lbs! It was sooooo awsome! It was a female and she was completely full of eggs! We really would have loved to keep it but it was awesome to see Cody catch it!This was my big fish! Its a red salmon and they are a blast to catch, they jump up out of the water and flip around. You could catch a salmon and lay it on the shore and the red salmons are so strong they can flip their way back into the water. Its CRAZY!

All in all we had so much fun! We stayed for 14 days and visited most of the Kenai Penisila... including the Anchorage LDS Temple, Such a special moment!

Honeymoon Trip!

Next week on June 15 Cody and I are headed to Alaska for our two weeks official honeymoon! I'm so freaking excited! We're going salmon fishing, halibut fishing, site seeing, deep sea fishing, whale watching, and I want to see a huge huge huge bear! I'm so stoked!
Since the wedding we have been gone every weekend traveling and visiting family. We haven't had a weekend to ourselves at home for probably 5 weeks, so we're really looking forward to the trip and of course time to ourselves and away from work!
This weekend I had a Optical Convention which I attended in Midway. We stayed at the Zermatt which is this Ritzy place, Cody kept saying.... we do not fit in here! ha ha And it was true. One of the doctor that I work for also attended the convention and he brought all his family with him. He has a little boy who just turned 4 who adores Cody. He says... there's Cody the Cowboy! At our reception he told his dad... Look there's a COWBOY! It was too cute. So it was pretty cute when the doctors wife came up to Cody and say, You're Ian's hero... you rank pretty high up on his list with Super Man! ha ha It was pretty cute.
Well I promise as soon as we our wedding pics back I'll post a few. Since we're gone all the time we haven't setup our TV or Internet so we're kinda out of the loop. The only time we get to check our emails is at work, or in between travels!
I as able to steal this picture off Cody's Mom's computer.... More to come!
